And the big things like what to be when we grow up felt small and so far away
And forever seemed like something we’d never have to reconcile with
But here we are face to face with life itself
And your hand on mine is less electric but more assured
And my head on your chest at night is a homecoming
And the quiet between us is saturated with a lifetime of knowing
And the wonder has been replaced with gratitude
And the difficulties have illuminated our strengths
And I couldn’t imagine anything more true
