An evening engagement session on Moscow Mountain
Caroline and Orin are some of my oldest and dearest friends in Moscow, Idaho. Whenever I get the opportunity to shoot with people I already know and love, it is thrilling and terrifying. The slow, inky doubt of impostor syndrome seems to swell in the back of my mind in a more obsessive and overpowering way. Maybe it’s that I care so deeply about their opinion, or that they knew me when I was younger and more insecure and working in kitchens and no where near a camera. At the same time, I get to jump right into the juicy love story without spending any time on get-to-know-you questions. In the end I’m in love with the photos and so so happy for my friends.
We spent the evening on Moscow Mountain and somehow managed to cross paths with a cougar, a moose, and some turkeys all in the span of 5 minutes (all from the safety of the car thankfully). We witnessed the most stunning, glowy sunset and finished off with some flash fun in the hills of the Palouse.
