Funky Photoshoot in the Virgin Islands

Kerissa and Nick and I go way back. Back to the days when I was an island hopping 20 something and found myself living on the little hidden gem of an island in the Caribbean called St. Croix. So, anytime I go back we always style a photoshoot, and I love it so much because there’s nothing better than making art with your friends. That’s how we decided on this funky photoshoot in the Virgin Islands.

Kerissa has amazing style, so we were able to plan the whole thing around items and clothes she already owned. Well, except for the couch. We borrowed that from a friend, which is a whole other story that ends in me chasing a loose dog around the island in flip-flops. Needless to say, not my best moment.

Anywho, I’m in love with these images. And I’m in love with St. Croix. If you’ve never been, and you’re looking for a tropical vacation without having to travel internationally, I highly suggest checking it out.

Our main focus during the shoot was creative and intentional posing. So we slowed down and really thought about the surroundings, our props, and how to move within them. Afterwords, we got to experience the most amazing clouds and the most amazing sunset. Check it out for yourself!
